Want to be part of something big, possibly even life-changing? Join a Young Leadership mission. You’ll be energized and informed, make new friends, and see the world from a whole new perspective.

What makes a Young Leadership mission special?

A Sense of Purpose
The Jewish Federations of North America's missions are travel experiences unlike any other. Yes, you join other young, caring Jews for exciting adventures. Sure, you get to learn from and schmooze with community leaders, world-renowned experts, and political personalities. But what makes each mission truly unique is the chance to visit with members of our extended Jewish family and come face to face with our shared heritage, traditions, and values. Mission participants come away not only with a stronger understanding of where they have been, but also a clear vision of where we're headed as a people.

Spiritual, Historical, Personal
Our missions aren't passive tourist experiences. These trips actively engage the mind, soul, and body. We'll explore local communities and their histories while traveling by jeep, boat, plane, and foot. We'll witness firsthand the extraordinary efforts of organizations funded by federation system dollars, and we’ll have a chance to roll up our sleeves and help build and strengthen Jewish life.

Our missions are journeys on which participants make new friends, explore their roots and experience Jewish culture. We go to Israel frequently, but we also travel to other Jewish communities around the world, from Washington to Warsaw, from Moscow to Mexico City--wherever Jews live and have made their mark.
