2009 NATIONAL YOUNG LEADERSHIP AWARD WINNERS

Steve Aaron is currently the vice president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg, Steve and his wife, Lisa, have chaired Super Sunday for the last two years and are members of the Ben-Gurion Society. As an active member of the Community Relations Council, Steve led a rally in support of Israel at the Pennsylvania state capital during the recent Gaza war and organized a 2008 presidential debate focused on issues important to the Jewish community. Steve also serves on the Pennsylvania Jewish Coalition and recently completed the two-year Limudim Jewish leadership course. Steve is vice president and director of Public Relations at Neiman Group. Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg: David Javitch Young Leadership Award

Adam Barshefsky is a member of the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago Community Outreach Committee and the Jewish Community Relations Council. He is a former member of the JF Health & Human Services Commission, Community Building and Jewish Continuity Commission and the Executive Committee and served as a JCRC subcommittee chair. He was president of the JUF Young Leadership Division (YLD) in 2006-07 and served as an ex-officio director on the Jewish United Fund-Jewish Federation board in that capacity. He served on the YLD board of directors from 2004-2008. In his first year on the YLD board, he served as a Dialogues co-chair and was assigned to the newly created Campaign Trades/YLD liaison position. He was appointed to the position of programming vice president on YLD's executive committee the following year. Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago: Beatrice P. & Abram D. Lisa Berg is a member of the board of directors of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and has served on the National Young Leadership Cabinet of The Jewish Federations of North America since 2004. She joined the board of the Young Leadership Council in 1998. In 2000, she served as vice campaign chair of the Young Leadership Council and became Campaign Chair the following year. In 2001, she became the second woman to chair the Young Leadership Council. Lisa also serves on the board of directors of the Miami Chapter of American Jewish Committee (AJC). In 2007, she received AJC’s prestigious Sholom Comay Fellowship. She is a partner with the law firm of Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson. Prior to working for Stearns Weaver, she clerked for the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Special Investigations (OSI), the division assigned to prosecute Nazi war criminals, and worked for OSI in the former East Germany. Greater Miami Jewish Federation: Stanley C. Myers Presidents’ Leadership Award

Jane Berger Ginsburg is a member of the board of directors of the United Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York, and is vice chair for the Coalition for Tomorrow (formerly the Young Adult Division). She is a past co-chair for Hadassah’s Young Families and a past member of the Young Leadership Council for Gilda’s Club. Jane received her BA from the University of Pittsburgh and her JD from Temple Law School. She is currently a senior development officer for the Albany Medical Center Foundation. United Jewish Federation of Northeastern NY: Myrtle F. Berman Young Leadership Award

Aric Bomsztyk is the co-chair of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle’s legal affinity group, the Cardozo Society, which is the official Washington State Bar Association minority bar for Jewish lawyers in the state. Through the leadership of Aric and his co-chair, hundreds of Jewish legal professionals are involved in the Cardozo Society’s CLE series, Pro-Bono services, Mentorship program and philanthropy. He is an attorney at Barokas Martin & Tomlinson, where his practice encompasses all aspects of small business representation, including incorporation, financing, contract/lease review, negotiations and litigation, as well as personal injury and criminal defense. Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle: Spitzer Young Leadership Award

Elise Scheck Bonwitt has been actively involved in the Greater Miami Jewish Federation for the past 15 years, chairing many committees of its Young Leadership Council. She currently serves as the Women’s Department vice chair of Campaign and on its Executive Committee. She previously served as the Women’s Department Northeast Dade chair. Elise has given her time and energy on Federation’s Yerucham Committee and the Jewish Volunteer Center board. She is also part of the Women’s Amutot Committee, which allocates funds from the Annual Campaign to non-profits in Israel that focus on the welfare of women and girls. Greater Miami Jewish Federation: Robert Russell Fellow Award

Adina Brownstein is currently in her second year as chair of the Young Leadership Division of United Jewish Communities of MetroWest New Jersey. She previously served two years as the Campaign co-chair. Adina has held several positions within YLD and Women’s Philanthropy, including chair of the Golda Meir Society. Adina is on the board of the Federation. She recently rejoined the Federation’s Partnership 2000 Revival Committee and is a new member of the Salaries and Personnel Practices Committee. United Jewish Communities of MetroWest New Jersey: Julius and Bessie Cohn Young Leadership Award

Karen Budin is a member of the Jewish United Fund’s Young Women’s Board and has had many positions of responsibility during her four years of service. She has served as vice president of Area Development and Administration and, for 2010, will serve as chair of the YWB Spring Event. She is also active in the JUF Women’s Board campaign, including serving as a member of the Lion Luncheon. She is currently a member of the Jewish Federation’s Health & Human Services Commission and a former member of the Israel & Overseas Commission. Karen is a member of the board of directors of the Jewish National Fund where she has also had a leadership role for the last six years. She was active in and is a life-time member of Naamat. John Bussel serves on the Executive and Investment Committees of the Foundation of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. He will assume the role of Foundation chair in 2010. He is Florida Chair of the Friends of Beit Issie Shapiro, which serves the needs of children with disabilities in Israel, and on the board of American Friends of the Leo Beck Educational Center in Haifa. John also chairs the Miami Chapter of the American Technion Society. He is a trustee of Barry University in Miami Shores, FL and The Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, CT. Greater Miami Jewish Federation: Stanley C. Myers Presidents’ Young Leadership Award

Milanie Cleere is a member of the Federation board of directors and the Family Education Committee. In addition, she is on the Board of Trustees for the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art and on the External Relations Committee for the Madison Children's Museum. Milanie serves as CEO of Oompa Enterprises, Inc. and is also founding partner of Juicebox Software. Jewish Federation of Madison: Miriam Singer Sulman Young Leadership Award Lisa Cline has been an active volunteer at the Jewish Community Federation of Greater Rochester since 2006. Lisa has chaired the Family Education Advisory committee since 2007. She has also been a member of the Jewish Education Services Committee since 2007. Lisa has served on the Board of Temple Beth El since 2007 where she serves on the ritual and Tikkun Olam Committees. Jewish Community Federation of Greater Rochester: Raye K. Aiole Young Leadership Award

Randie Collier is past co-chair of the Young Women’s Cabinet at the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona. She serves on the Federation board, JCRC and Women’s Philanthropy Executive Committee. She is very involved in her synagogue and chairs the Women’s Philanthropy Extraordinary Women program. Randie is also involved in the Tucson community at-large, agreeing to co-chair committees at events such the Festival of Books at the University of Arizona. Randie and her husband, Shelby, own and run a very successful bakery, Beyond Bread. Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona: Gary I Sarver Young Woman of the Year

Melissa Cordish is the current co-chair of Leadership Development for THE ASSOCIATED: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore. She is on the Center for Community and Engagement and Leadership Board and has been a member of THE ASSOCIATED board since 1999. Melissa is also the Grants co-chair for Baltimore’s Jewish Women’s Giving Foundation. She is the chair of the PJ Library Committee, an innovative program that works to engage young families. Melissa is also on the board of Jewish Funds for Justice and involved with The Annual Fund for the Krieger Schechter Day School. THE ASSOCIATED: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore: Harry Greenstein Young Leadership Award

Kim Creem currently serves on the Budget and Administration Committee at Combined Jewish Philanthropies, the Jewish Federation of Greater Boston. She is on the Women’s Philanthropy board where she co-chaired the 2009 Pomegranate event, and she served on the Young Leadership Division board for six years. She is a member of the Jaffa Society Board. Kim was a Team CJP Superstar and received the 2009 CJP Accountant Community of Excellence Award. She serves on the board of directors for Temple Emanuel and was the financial secretary for their sisterhood. She is a board member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, and was a volunteer for Temple Emanuel’s nursery school and for the John Ward Elementary School in Newton. Kim is a certified public accountant, currently working at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Combined Jewish Philanthropies: Young Leadership Award

Joey Daniel has served on the board of the Federation’s Younger Set Division for six years. She has been a Younger Set President and founded the "adopting a family" tradition for the Younger Set board at Jewish Family Service during Hanukkah. She was the chair of the first “Be” event at the Jewish Community Center, which raised over $1 million and had over 1,000 people in attendance. Joey’s numerous volunteer activities include Israel Independence Day, Mitzvah Day, the Annual Bagel Run and the Kosher Chili Cook-off. Her community involvement also includes co-chair of transportation for the Dallas Maccabi games. Joey has chaired the Shearith Purim Carnival for the last four years. For the last two years, she has chaired the volunteer committee of for the Annual Cohen/Waldman Golf Tournament, and she is chairing the 2010 Women’s Event. Having founded the Janis Levine Music Women’s and Children’s Endowment Fund in honor of her mother, Joey has served on its board for 12 years. Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas: Beth Nathan Leadership Award

Daniel Daviau has been active in United Jewish Appeal of Greater Toronto for several years, holding such leadership roles as chair of Major Gifts in 2004, chair of New Gifts in 2007 and 2009 chair of Top Gifts. He also served on UJA Federation’s former Jewish Toronto Tomorrow and Family Philanthropy Committees. Daniel has assumed leadership roles with a variety of other organizations, including the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Greater Toronto, the Hospital for Sick Children (Industry Leader), Mount Sinai Hospital Development Committee and the Joint MBA/LLB Alumni Association. UJA Federation of Greater Toronto: Leadership Development Award

Eva Davis has been involved with The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington for the last three and a half years. She currently serves on the board of directors, Campaign Cabinet, and the Community Planning and Allocations Committee, and has been Super Sunday vice chair for several years. Her presence in the community is remarkable, and she represents the qualities of a true Jewish leader, networker and innovator. Under Eva’s leadership of NextGen, a number of new programs have been created, including friendraising, Next Gen missions to Israel and Moscow, NeXus: Next Step, and Dialogues in Jewish Life, a program for young couples. Jewish Federation of Greater Washington: Jerome J. Dick Young Leadership Award Jennifer Dechtman has been involved with the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado for more than ten years. She began her involvement through the Jewish Community Relations Council in 1995, continued with women’s programs and events, and in 2007, she was named to National Young Leadership Cabinet. Greg Davis
serves as Vice-Chair of Program and Service on the Jewish Federation Board of Directors with the Jewish Federation of San Antonio. He also serves as Chair for the Leadership Development program. Greg received the Sylvia F. and Harry Sugerman Young Leadership Award in recognition of his outstanding promise and leadership ability. He is very active in the local Jewish community and serves as President of Congregation Rodfei Sholom. He is married to Kathryn Davis and they have three children. Greg is the grandson of Anita and Norman Davis for which the Jewish Federation suite is named in their honor. Greg is the president of Sapphire Waters Company. Dr. Keith Dveirin is an active participant in Federation Young Leadership and the Maimonides Society activities. He also serves on the Temple Emanu-El board. He is a community Mohel, where his only fee is a request that each family make a donation to the charity of their choice. Professionally, he is a pediatrician. Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona: Gary I Sarver Young Man of the Year

David Dykeman has become very involved with the Combined Jewish Philanthropies since moving to Boston in 2001. He has helped to restart the Young Lawyers Group, was a member of the Young Leadership Division board and co-chaired the Young Couples Group with his wife, Danielle. David co-founded CJP’s Healthcare Innovations Team, which provides dynamic programming and networking for the business side of the healthcare industry. He currently chairs the Cardozo Recognition Society. He ran the 2009 Boston Marathon as co-captain of Team CJP, which raised more than $36,000 for CJP’s Economic Response. In addition to his work with CJP, David is a board member for Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) and serves on National Young Leadership Cabinet. David is a registered patent attorney for Greenberg Traurig, LLP, the country’s seventh largest law firm. Combined Jewish Philanthropies: Young Leadership Award

Blake Eltis is a chair of the Federation’s Young Adult Division, The Network. He also sits on the Young Professionals Committee at Shearith Israel. Blake is on the Federation’s Community Advisory Council and is a past board member of the Federation. He is involved with the Anti-Defamation League, the American Jewish Congress and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. Blake is a realtor in the Dallas area for Virginia Cook Realtors. Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas: The I. Zesmer Young Leadership Award

Marilyn Englander is vice president of Campaign and Allocations of the Jewish Federation of Fort Worth and Tarrant County board. She comes with a wealth of non-profit volunteer and leadership experience. She serves on the board of Fort Worth Country Day School and the Beth-El Religious School Committee. Other positions she has capably held include committee chair for Tzedakah Sunday, committee member for the Women's Event and Rabbi's Gala, and various other leadership positions for the Waco Jewish Community. Jewish Federation of Fort Worth and Tarrant County: The Barnett/Brachman Young Leadership Award

Brian Feld
has served on the San Antonio Jewish Federation Board of Directors (since 2007). Brian serves on the Federation’s Allocations Committee (since 2008), is a member of the San Antonio Holocaust Commission (since 2008), and is a member of the Council on Jewish Senior Services (since 2009). Brian served on the Jewish Community Association of Austin (JCAA) Board of Trustees from 2004-2007, served as JCAA Vice President for Financial Resource Development from 2005-2006, chaired the 2005-2006 JCAA Federation Annual Campaign, co-chaired the JCAA’s Young Adult Division from 2003-2005, and received JCAA’s inaugural Hymie and Louise Samuelson Young Leadership Award in 2006, while living in Austin, Texas. Brian Feld received the Mike Levy Award, which is presented annually to an emerging leader who has shown unusual commitment and service to the Jewish Federation of San Antonio Annual Campaign. J.J. Flotken currently sits on the board of trustees of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis and served as president of the Federation’s Young Professionals Division (2007-2009). He was a YPD vice president of Outreach and a YPD board member (2005-2007). J.J. was a founding member of Federation’s Montefiore Society (for financial & insurance professionals), and attended National Young Leadership’s Tel Aviv One and Washington 15 Conferences in 2006 and 2008, respectively. Jewish Federation of St. Louis: The David N. and Roselin Grosberg Award for Outstanding Young Leadership

Jeffrey Frumin is the current chair of the Young Entertainment, Media and Communications Division of UJA-Federation of New York. He is also a board member of the Executive Entertainment, Media and Communications Division. In 2005, Jeffrey completed the Emerging Leaders and Philanthropist’s IMPACT Leadership Training Program and attended National Young Leadership’s Tel Aviv One Conference. He has been involved in AIPAC for 15 years, including holding an internship and serving as campus president of the Boston University chapter. He started an organization in Washington, DC, called J Scene that raised thousands of dollars for Jewish organizations. Jeffrey is the CEO and co-founder of UCG Marketing and Code Blue recovery drink. UJA-Federation of New York: Morris L. Levinson and William Rosenwald Award for Excellence in Leadership

Michael Gideon has served as co-chair of this year’s Jewish Federation of Northwest Indiana Annual Campaign and has been a catalyst, encouraging the participation of new campaign volunteers and donors. His involvement in all areas of communal life is an example to everyone. His passion for Judaism shines and the time he devotes to the community enhances Jewish life in northwest Indiana. Jewish Federation of Northwest Indiana: Dr. Emanuel Marcus Memorial Leadership Award

Clint Gillom recently finished his two-year term as the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City’s Super Sunday co-chair. He is a member of the JCRB/AJC board of directors. He has played an active role in many of the community’s young adult programs, including his work on the “tovkc” Planning Committee, Young Professionals Initiative Committee, and Kansas City’s Tel Aviv One Committee. He was a member of the Young Leadership Forum of the Partnership 2000 Committee. A Melton graduate, Clint is an active member of Congregation Beth Shalom, where he currently serves as a Minyan Maker. Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City: Dan Fingersh Young Leadership Award

Harlene Ginsberg served as president of Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts from 2007-2009. She has served on the Federation’s Executive Committee and continues to serve on the board. Harlene has co-chaired Super Sunday, participated in two Young Leadership programs and is a member of the Springfield Council of Jewish Women Scholarship Committee. Harlene is married to Dr. Jerry Schreibstein who has also been an active Federation volunteer. Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts: Philip E. Saks Young Leadership Award

Dr. Craig Goldberg is a member of the board of directors of the United Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York, the steering committee of the Maimonides Society, a vice chair of the Coalition for Tomorrow (formerly, Young Adult Division) and is chair of the Ben-Gurion Society. Craig is the chief, Division of Neurosurgery, Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, NY, where he serves on the Surgery Executive Committee, the Trauma Committee, and the Ethics Committee. He is a clinical assistant professor of surgery at Albany Medical Center. United Jewish Federation of Northeastern NY: The Samuel Aronowitz Young Leadership award

Kim Goldberg has been actively involved with the Jewish Federation of Omaha’s Partnership with Israel program. She is currently the art chair for the Midwest Consortium and, prior to this, she served as the Omaha art chair for three years. Kim is a member of the Federation’s Partnership with Israel Committee, and she created the Partnership’s Artist in Residency Program in 2006 as well as many other Partnership art programs. Kim also organized and executes the art program at Friedel Jewish Academy. Jewish Federation of Omaha: Lois Jeanne Schrager Memorial Young Leadership Award

Leslie Goldberg began her commitment to UJA-Federation of New York in 1998. In 2005, she was selected for National Young Leadership Cabinet, and in April 2009 she became First Year Class chair. For the 2010 Campaign, Leslie is chairing the Westchester Global Initiative. In her “home” community, Leslie has been instrumental in building the Women’s Campaign in Rye/Rye Brook/Port Chester. In addition to her involvement with UJA-Federation, Leslie also devotes her energy to the Rye Brook School system, serving on the Compact Committee for many years, as well as co-chairing the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast. She serves on the Education Committee at Temple Shalom in Greenwich, CT and sits on the board of trustees of WJCS, reinforcing her commitment to the Westchester Jewish community. UJA-Federation of New York: The Martha Selig Award

Carrie Goldstein is on the board of directors of the Jewish Federation of Broward County. She is the chair of the Young Leadership Division (YLD), where she oversees a campaign of approximately $100,000 and approximately 12-14 community outreach and leadership events each year. With Carrie at the helm, YLD has doubled the Mitzvah Projects, increased networking event attendance by approximately 35%, honored Ben-Gurion Society members with unique opportunities and launched the new Horizons Leadership Series. She is also an active member of the Federation’s Communications, Campaign and Mission committees. In addition, Carrie is a graduate of the Anti-Defamation League’s Glass Leadership Institute. Jewish Federation of Broward County: Jerry “Tzvi” Wolf Young Leadership Award

Sammy Grant is very involved with the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta. His many roles include serving on the Young Leadership Council, Planning and Allocations committees, and Planned Giving and Endowment Committee. One of Sammy’s goals is to let people know about the many agencies in Georgia and overseas that Federation supports. Sammy is an attorney, CPA, certified financial planner, chartered life underwriter, and licensed Georgia real estate salesperson. He is president and founder of SG Financial Advisors, LLC. Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta: Abe Schwartz Young Leadership Award

Seth Halpern is founder and co-chair at Blue Knot Austin, a Jewish high-tech networking organization. In addition to being a member of the first J-LEAD class, Seth served on the Jewish Community Association of Austin's leadership development task force. He also served on the 2009 Joe Krassner Memorial Poker Tournament Committee. Jewish Community Association of Austin: Hymie & Louise Samuelson Young Leadership Award

Alexandra P. Hirschkind has been the chair of JewEL (Jewish Emerging Leaders), the Young Leadership Division of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas, for the past two years. In addition to serving on the JewEL board, she is also a member of the Federation’s board of directors. Alexandra is a 2006 graduate of the Federation’s young professional’s leadership class and was a past co-chair of the campaign event, Kosher Poker. Before moving to Las Vegas, Alexandra was involved with the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland and served as the chair of the St. Petersburg Passover Project & Mission in 2003. During her collegiate years as co-chair of the Kent State University Campaign, Alexandra became the first college student to be named to the UJA board. Jewish Federation of Las Vegas: 2009 Young Leadership Award

Ari Hoffman has been recognized for his reliable and tireless efforts as co-chair of the Early Childhood Committee of UJA-Federation of Eastern Fairfield County. He is a past co-chair of the Federation’s Allocations Committee and also of the Young Leadership Program. Ari is a past member of the board of directors of Ezra Academy. Currently, he is an active and valuable member of the board of the Jewish Center for Community Services of Eastern Fairfield County. UJA-Federation of Eastern Fairfield County: The A.O. Samuels/Arnold & Bobby Kaplan Young Leadership Award

Evan Indianer chairs the Community Campaign of the United Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh. In 2008, he chaired the Jewish Community Life Commission, where he was instrumental in implementing a new funding process for UJF. Evan also pioneered an outreach initiative stemming from the Federation and networking all of the organizations and synagogues toward the common goal of outreach in the Pittsburgh Jewish community. He is also an active member of the boards of the Jewish Chronicle, Community Day, and Youth Works. Evan is an alumnus of National Young Leadership Cabinet, where he met his wife, a former UJC National Solicitation Trainer, and he helped spearhead the UJC website initiative FedWeb. He is CEO of Unicentric. United Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh: Stark Young Leadership Award

Yael Irom has been involved in many areas of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, including YLD, Women’s Campaign and Legal Division. She has mentored many up-and-coming leaders and has served as a mentor and advisor to the Young Leadership Division, even after completing her term as chair. Yael is a member of National Young Leadership Cabinet and is an outstanding solicitor who understands the important role the Campaign plays in the Federation. The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles: Federation Young Women’s Award

Tamara Jacobson has just completed her term as co-chair of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans Young Adult Division. During her tenure, she created the Young Families Committee, which sponsors the highly successful annual Family Fun Day. She has been a member of the Federation board of trustees since 2005 and joined the National Young Leadership Cabinet in 2008. She is a graduate of the Federation’s Lemann-Stern Young Leadership Program, Class of 2000-2002. Tamara is an endowed Lion of Judah. She will serve as the Federation’s Newcomers Committee chair for 2009-2011. Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans: Herbert J. & Margot Garon Young Leadership Award

Greg Jaron serves on the board of trustees of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and is the chair of the Renaissance Group. He is the current past board chair of the Jewish Relief Agency and actively serves on JRA’s executive committee. Greg also serves on the advisory board of the Chabad of the Main Line. Greg is a passionate supporter of the Jewish day school system. He is the president and owner of Jarons Furniture Outlet Inc., a retail furniture store in Bordentown, NJ. Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia: Young Leadership Award

Jennifer Kardash helped establish the popular Choices event, an outreach initiative of the Jewish Federation of Ottawa Women’s Campaign. She was inspired to engage and to set an example of compassion and commitment for her children. Jennifer has also served on the Federation’s Women’s Cabinet. Jewish Federation of Ottawa: Freiman Family Young Leadership Award

David Kaufman is currently on the Pillar for Jewish Education of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles. He served as vice chair and then chaired the Young Member Campaign for Hillcrest Country Club, where he also chaired the Hebrew National Golf Tournament. He served on the steering committee for the Young Leadership Development Institute and was a recipient of the Edgar Magnin Award for 2009 for Outstanding Community Service. Aaron Kiviat is co-chair of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle’s legal affinity group, the Cardozo Society, the official Washington State Bar Association minority bar for Jewish lawyers in the state. He practices criminal law at the law offices of Geoffrey Burg. Through his leadership, hundreds of Jewish legal professionals are involved in the Cardozo Society’s CLE series, pro-bono services, mentorship program and philanthropy. Michael Kogon is a past chair of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta’s Young Leadership Council. He is an alumnus of National Young Leadership Cabinet as well as Leadership Atlanta. He serves on the boards of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and the American Israel Policy Advisory Committee, where he is a National Leadership Network member. He also served as chair of the Federation's CEO roundtable and of the 2005 and 2006 Bob Strickland Memorial Golf Classic benefiting the Arthritis Foundation. Lawrence Kolin has served in many capacities at the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando. He was a member of the board of directors and the Executive Committee, as well as a member of Men's Cabinet, chair of the Cardozo Legal Society, chair of corporate sponsorships and a teacher at the Community Hebrew high-school. Lawrence has also worked with the Sister City Steering Committee on making the partnership between Orlando and Kiryat Motzkin official. Allan Latts is active with the Jewish Community of Louisville, Inc. Young Leadership Development program. Jackie Levey is a founding member of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis Cardozo Society (for attorneys). She is a past board member and vice president of the Young Professionals Division and a founder and chair of the St. Louis Israel Connection of the Jewish Community Relations Council. She was the 60th Gala co-chair and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the board. Jackie and her husband Jim were co-chairs in 2008 for the Rubin Israel Experience, a Jewish Federation program. Adam Lopatin has been on the board of the Jewish Federation of Pinellas/Pasco Counties for several years as chair of the Campaign Kickoff event, co-chair of Major Gifts Division, and member of several committees. Adam joined National Young Leadership Cabinet in 2004. He is also on the board of Menorah Manor, a Jewish continuing care community, and the Blossom Montessori School for the Deaf. In addition, he is a founding member of the Skip Cline Young Leadership Society of Morton Plant Mease Hospital Foundation. Adam recently accepted the position of program director for the Brotherhood of Temple B’nai Israel in Clearwater. He is a sales executive and senior vice president with Wells Fargo Insurance Services Southeast, and he is recognized statewide as a condominium insurance expert. David Marcus is a member of the boards of directors of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center, the Milwaukee Jewish Day School, and the Economic Forum Planning Committee. He was a member of the Campaign Cabinet for the 2004-2006 Community Capital Campaign. In 2007-2008 he served on the Nominating Committee of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation and chaired the Lunch with a Legend Committee. David Mathog has been involved in the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford Annual Campaign since 2000. He currently serves on the Federation’s board of directors. In addition to serving as co-chair and committee member for several events, he was co-chair of the Young Adult Division for the 2008 and 2009 Annual Campaigns. Most recently, David served on the Federation’s Corporate Sponsorship Committee for the 2009 Annual Campaign and on the Committee for Long Range Community Planning. David was a participant in the Frank Stavis Leadership Forum, a local leadership development program. Lori Yontef Mathog has been involved in the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford’s Annual Campaign since 2000. She is serving her second year of her term as co-chair of the Young Adult Division and is a member of the Jewish Federation board of directors. She has served as event chair and committee member for numerous events and most recently was a co-chair of the annual Women’s Philanthropy dinner event, Voices, in 2009. She is a member of the Pomegranate Society and is a committed Annual Campaign solicitor. Lori was an essential force behind increasing the Young Adult Division’s contribution to the Annual Campaign by 30% from 2008 to 2009. Lori has attended National Young Leadership conferences and was a participant in the Frank Stavis Leadership Forum, a local leadership development program. Lisa Beth Meisel is a board member of the Women’s Division of UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey. She was vice chair of Outreach and Education and chaired the Lion of Judah Campaign. She is a member of the Berrie Fellows Leadership Program. Lisa Beth is in her final year on National Young Leadership Cabinet, where she was vice chair of the study mission to Berlin as well as a class chair, and through which she also traveled to Minsk and St. Petersburg. Lisa Beth is currently on the executive board of the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades and chairs the Health and Recreation Department. She was a prosecutor at the Manhattan DA’s Office. Risa Miller has been an active board member of the Jewish Federation of Charlotte since 2005, recently serving for two years as its treasurer. She is also the Federation’s representative at the Foundation for the Charlotte Jewish Community, and she serves on the Finance Committee, Main Event Steering Committee and Campaign Cabinet. She has chaired the Newcomer Committee and participated in the second class of the Bernstein Leadership Group. Notably, Risa has generously contributed to the Federation Annual Campaign for 10 straight years and is a member, with her husband, David, of the Ben-Gurion Society. Risa is also very active at the Charlotte Jewish Day School, where she is a board member and currently chairs the Annual Fund. Dr. Ron Moses serves on the board of trustees of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston and is the immediate past president of Congregation Brith Shalom. He is the founder and co-chair of the Torah and Outreach Resource Center of Houston’s Annual Jewish Medical Ethics Conference and is a graduate of the Federation’s Wexner Heritage Leadership Program. Alan Nelson is an officer of the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis. He serves on the Audit and Finance, Nominating, and Budget and Allocations committees. He is a graduate of the Federation’s first ATID leadership development program, and is a past Young Leadership Steering Committee member. The area of involvement that Alan enjoys most is Partnership with Israel programs, where he is active on the Economic Development Task Force. Shari Odenheimer is a former member of the board of trustees of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia. She currently serves on the board of the Federation Endowment Corporation and the board of trustees of Philadelphia Women’s Philanthropy. She is an alumna of National Young Leadership Cabinet and sits on the board of the Jewish Relief Agency and Federation’s Coordinating Council for the Elderly. Shari has served locally as the Martin Luther King Day of Service chair and has spoken nationally at the Lion of Judah Institute. Shari is the immediate past chair of the board of directors of the SeniorLAW Center, an organization providing free legal services for needy elderly in Philadelphia. Jason Oliver is a member of the Jewish Federation of Madison major gifts division and was part of the Future Directors Young Leadership Group. He is a member of the Jewish Federation Finance Committee and sits on the University of Wisconsin-Hillel board of directors. Daniel Pearl is an active member of the board of directors of the Jewish Community Alliance of Southern Maine (JCA) and the JCA’s 2009 Campaign Cabinet. He served as president of the Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine. During his tenure, he worked to bring new methods to Holocaust and human rights education in Maine’s schools, while building a sound infrastructure for the organization. Wendy Pressman is an active volunteer leader for the Jewish Federation of Greater Buffalo, where she served as a committee chair for the United Jewish Fund’s Super Sunday Event. Jonathan Ramsfelder is active with the United Jewish Communities of MetroWest New Jersey. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee and served as YLD Campaign co-chair from 2007-2009. He is co-chair of Morris County Connection Advisory Council and a vice president of the Hebrew Academy of Morris County board of Trustees. Carrie Ransby is active in the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg as a member of the CJA Women’s Management team. She was co-chair of the Women’s Mission to Washington and a canvasser during the CJA Campaign. Carrie also took part in the next-level leadership training program, called Boardwalking. She has very quickly become one of Winnipeg’s most recognizable young leaders. In particular, she has been a very prominent face of the next generation at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue, sitting on its board and Membership Committee, chairing the “Fusion” young adult committee and helping plan the annual Purim Gala. Dave Ravitch is a member of the board of directors of the Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley. He has chaired the Partnership with Israel Committee since 2007 and has co-chaired the Annual Campaign in Benton Harbor/St. Joseph, Michigan for more than five years. Dave also serves on the board of the Endowment Committee for the Benton Harbor Jewish Community and on its Youth Committee. He is a past president of Temple B’nei Shalom in Benton Harbor and currently serves on its board of directors. Dave retired this past year from the National Guard after 23 years of service. Joshua Reisman was Super Sunday chair in 2008 for the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey. He and his wife, Erica, co-chaired Super Week in 2007. Josh is a member of Federation’s board of directors and recently served on the Finance Contingency Task Force. A member of the board and Executive Committee of the Katz JCC, Josh serves as the board liaison for ACHaD (the JCC’s special needs department) and on the executive committee of the Festival of Arts, Books and Culture. He has been a Junior Maccabi coach. As a member of Congregation M’kor Shalom, Josh is the volunteer coordinator for the synagogue’s High Holiday food drive, which benefits the kosher food pantry at the Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service. Jill Rosen is a member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s board of trustees and is currently serving as co-chair of the Renaissance Group Campaign. Jill is the immediate past chair of the Renaissance Group Major Gifts Event. She is now in her third year on National Young Leadership Cabinet and served as first year class chair. She is a member of the Recruitment Committee at the Saligman Middle School of Perelman Jewish Day School. In 2004, Jill became a member of the Women’s Philanthropy board. Jill is currently the Director of Development for OROT, the special needs initiative in Philadelphia’s Jewish Day Schools. Jeffrey Rosenthal began his volunteer involvement as a canvasser in the UJA Federation of Toronto’s Finance Division and has gone on to many prominent leadership roles. He has cochaired both the Finance and Major Gifts Divisions, co-chaired the 2008 Campaign Launch and led a number of missions to Israel. He will also serve as co-chair of the 2011 United Jewish Appeal campaign. In addition, he is a member of the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto Investment Committee, is actively involved with Mount Sinai Hospital, and is the current chair of the board and past president of the Canadian Shaare Zedek Hospital Foundation. Karen Solomon Rothbaum serves on the Executive Committee of the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis, where she also serves on the Nominating and the Budget and Allocations committees. She is a past member of the Young Leadership steering committee and co-chaired Super Sunday for two years. In addition to Federation involvement, Karen is on the board of the Bureau of Jewish Education and is president of their Early Childhood committee. She is also a past president of the Indianapolis chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women. Her husband, Michael, is also involved in the Jewish community. Lisa Schifman is on the Women’s Division board of directors of the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City, and is an active member of the Women’s Division Campaign team. Jamee Schlesinger has served as the outreach chair for the Charleston Jewish Federation for the past three years. She has been responsible for creating numerous initiatives that have benefitted many individuals and families in our community. Jamee has personally visited over 500 households and is committed to uniting and engaging all members of the Jewish community in Jewish life in Charleston. Jamee was the CJF “Woman Who Makes a Difference” award recipient in 2009. is currently in the second year on the Campaign Cabinet for the Durham-Chapel Hill Jewish Federation’s Annual Campaign, and co-chair of Mitzvah Day.  She has served as solicitor for the Federation and the Partnership for a Jewish Center.  She chaired the first campaign event geared toward young professionals in 2009 and has served as Lerner Jewish Community Day School's vice president, Fundraising chair and PAC co-chair. She initiated the first Lerner School 5k Fundraiser and is on the religious school committee for Judea Reform Congregation. Anne Marie became a Jew by choice in 2007. Rob Schneider is currently tri-chair of the Durham-Chapel Hill Jewish Community Center Committee. Cullen Seltzer has been an active member of the Allocations Committee of the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond, the JCRC Government/Legislative Committee and is currently vice chair of Enterprise Circle. In 2009, he chaired and led the Pre-Advocacy Day Training Program. He also serves on the board of the Weinstein JCC and is on the Budget and Finance Committee. In 2007, he formed SeltzerGreene, PLC, where his practice is concentrated in helping design and implement settlements in mass tort and mass claim litigation. He also has a diverse civil litigation and corporate practice. He is currently chair of the Virginia State Bar's Third District Committee for Lawyer Discipline, an adjunct professor at the University of Richmond School of Law teaching appellate advocacy, and is past-president of the Grove Crest Colonial Place Neighborhood Association. Lisa Shorr is a dedicated member of the Women’s Alliance of the Jewish Federation of Rhode Island, serving as chair of the Jaffa Gate/Pomegranate division. In 2007, Lisa participated in a worker training mission to Israel. As an active solicitor, she speaks passionately about her own commitment and why supporting the Federation Annual Campaign is so vital. Lisa also serves on the board of the Jewish Community Center of Rhode Island and is vice president for membership outreach at Temple Emanu-El. Rabbi Daniel Shuman currently serves on the boards of the Jewish Federation of Greater Buffalo, the Jewish Federation Apartments, Jewish Heritage Day School, Jewish Discovery Center and the Mesivta Menachem Jewish High School in Buffalo. He is vice president of the Mikvah of Buffalo, and has served as rabbi for the Jewish Federation Apartments’ Himmel Family Chapel since 1997. Tammy Shumer serves on the Jacksonville Jewish Federation’s Women’s Steering Division Committee. She is also a member of the Hadassah group and chapter board, and recently was elected to the executive board of Beth El, The Beaches Synagogue. In the past, Tammy has served on the Jewish Family and Community Services board, and she has chaired the Federation’s Holiday Mitzvah Project for the past three years. Ian Silberman is a member of the National Young Leadership Cabinet. Michael Starr chairs the UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey’s Synagogue Leadership Initiative and is executive vice president of Temple Avodat Shalom of River Edge, a synagogue created through a merger he helped lead. A past chair of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Northern New Jersey and past member of the Executive Committee of UJA, Michael is also a graduate of the Berrie Fellows Leadership Program. He was recently appointed chair of UJA NNJ’s strategic planning process and serves on the steering committee of the Kehillah Partnership. Michael helps Global 1000 and emerging companies become more profitable by becoming more customer-focused in his work at Strativity Group. After working in the non-profit world for 14 years, including ten years at the Jewish Theological Seminary, he joined Bain and Company and then American Express. Jay Stein has been a committed and active young Jewish communal leader with the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix for the past several years. He serves on the board of directors of the Jewish Federation and is a current participant in the Wexner Heritage Program. Jay’s involvement extends beyond Federation to Congregation Beth Israel, where the Jill and Jay Stein Community Mikvah is housed and where he currently serves on the board of directors and the executive board. Stuart Tauber has made a significant impact on the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. He has been an active participant and solicitor in the campaign for many years. Stuart is a true leader who is very generous with his time and resources. Mary Stone Tessler has been a volunteer with the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix since 2006. She has served as a co-chair for the Young Women’s Educational Series, the Women’s Program Committee, and the Women’s Philanthropy Retreat, and chaired the Women’s Philanthropy Closing Campaign. She is a member of the Women’s Philanthropy board and Executive Committee, and recently became a member of the National Young Leadership Cabinet. Currently, Mary is co-chair of the 2010 Federation First Family Mission. In the general Jewish community, she is involved with Congregation Har Zion, Jewish Genetic Disease Center of Phoenix, and Hadassah Valley of the Sun. Jennifer Tuvlin is a YAD co-chair for the Jewish Community of Louisville, and a long-time YAD board member and Ben-Gurion Society member. She worked on the KATS (Keneseth Israel/Temple Shalom)/Adath Jeshurun Sunday School merger. Jennifer is a member of the JCC and National Council of Jewish Women, and volunteers at Dunn Elementary School. She did her undergraduate work at the University of Michigan, and attended Emory University’s Law School and worked as an attorney for eight years, before returning to Louisville. Sara Villalona became active with the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond several years ago after moving to the community. She is extremely involved in the Annual Campaign and Super Sunday. She and her husband, Juan, currently chair the JCFR Young Adult Campaign Division of the Annual Campaign and both participated in the Sherry Rose Emerging Leader Mission to Israel in 2008. She is an active member of the Ben-Gurion Society and is also a Lion of Judah. Sara also serves on the board of the Virginia Holocaust Museum. She is a physician’s assistant with Richmond Dermatology and Laser Specialists. Jewish Community Federation of Richmond: Sam E. & Virginia V. Binswanger Young Leadership Award

Kevin Waldman currently serves on the board of the San Francisco Federation and its Israel & Jewish Peoplehood Commission and is also a member of National Young Leadership Cabinet. Kevin also sits on the board of trustees at Brandeis Hillel Day School and previously served on the board of the San Francisco JCRC. Kevin has served on the San Francisco Federation’s Executive Committee and was the Young Adult Division president from 2005-2007. He led San Francisco’s delegation to Tel Aviv One and subsequently helped to recruit much of YAD’s current leadership. Todd Werwa is in his second year as chair of the Jacksonville Jewish Federation Young Leadership Steering Committee. Prior to that, he served in the role of YLD campaign chair for two years, and currently sits on the Federation board of directors as well as the editorial board of the Jacksonville Jewish News. Todd is an Emmy Award-winning sports television producer, who started his career at ESPN. He is presently a senior producer at PGA TOUR Productions, where he has produced specials and live television for CBS, NBC, ABC, Golf Channel, ESPN, Nickelodeon, Travel Channel, and pgatour.com. He grew up in Lido Beach, NY and graduated from Duke University and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Jacksonville Jewish Federation: Ilene Sari Selevan Young Leadership Award

Jeffrey Wild has been a strong supporter of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland and the greater Jewish community since 1998. He was chair and Campaign chair for the Young Leadership Division. He is a trustee of the Jewish Community Federation board and past member of the Jewish Community Federation Executive Committee, and he serves on several committees for Community Relations. Jeffrey has held leadership roles for the Campaign and is a member of the Solicitors Committee for the Centennial Initiative and the Welfare Fund Planning Committee. He co-chaired two Israel Solidarity Missions. Jeffrey is also a member of National Young Leadership Cabinet. He is heavily involved in the community as a trustee of the Fuchs Mizrachi School, Laura and Alvin Siegal College of Judaic Studies, and the Jewish Education Center. Jeffrey graduated from the Mandel Symposium and Wexner Heritage Foundation Courses. He is currently a member of the 2010 Leadership Cleveland class. Jason Williamson began his involvement with the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado’s Genesis Committee in 1999. He has played an integral role in several missions to Israel and has served as a volunteer for the community’s Annual Campaign, as well as the Jewish Community Relations Council. Dr. Bruce Wintman has held numerous leadership positions with the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts over the past decade. He served as co-chair for Young Leadership in 2000 and 2001, treasurer in 2004-2005, and vice president of the Annual Campaign in 2007. He held a position on the Executive Committee and currently serves on the Finance Committee, Planning and Allocations Committee, the Federation board and the Jewish Endowment. He is a former board member of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation. Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts: Philip E. Saks Young Leadership Award

Ian Wulfsohn is a member of the board of directors of the Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley in South Bend, Indiana. He is the co-chair of the Buildings and Grounds Committee and has chaired the Jewish Welfare Fund’s Super Sunday. Ian has served on the Federation’s Golf Fundraising Event Committee, the Making our Jewish Federation Green Committee, and the Youth Committee. He also serves on the board of directors of Sinai Synagogue. Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley: Robert Simon Leadership Development Award

Shira Yoshor is a Jewish Federation of Greater Houston board member and a graduate of its Wexner Heritage Leadership Program. She is actively involved on the regional board for American Associates of Ben Gurion University and as a board member of Robert M. Beren Academy. She is a past president of United Orthodox Synagogue’s Goldberg Montessori School and the immediate past president of United Orthodox Synagogue. Jewish Federation of Greater Houston: Barbara and Harold Falik Young Leadership Award

Morry Zolet is the vice-chair of the Investment Committee of THE ASSOCIATED: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore, as well as chair of the First Investment Committee. He is a board member of THE ASSOCIATED Jewish Charities board and Federation board. He is also involved with THE ASSOCIATED’s Annual Campaign, where he has chaired the Financial Services Division, as well as the Downtown Event. He continually expands THE ASSOCIATED family by engaging new donors, and increasing his involvement. Morry has been a board member of the JCC in Baltimore since 2007 and was chair of the first annual Baltimore Jewish Hall of Fame. Jessica Zwaiman became actively involved in Jewish organizations at a relatively young age. Four years ago, she joined The Network, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s young leadership division. Jessica chaired the Leadership Development Institute and served as the Miami co-chair of the National Young Leadership Mission to Israel. She also served on the board of The Network, on its Executive Committee and as its Education chair. She is a member of National Young Leadership Cabinet. Beyond Federation, Jessica is involved in “Three’s Company,” a program of Jewish Community Services of South Florida that pairs young adults with Holocaust survivors living alone in the community. Alex Zylberglait is an active volunteer of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. He serves on the board and Executive Committee of The Network and on the organizing committee of the Real Estate Speakers Series. Alex is also a Network co-chair and served as chair of this year’s Super Sunday. Further, Alex is a member of National Young Leadership Cabinet. He chairs the Tri-Center Project at the Michael Ann Russell JCC’s Hebraica program, which seeks to create an active partnership among the JCC, the Community Center in our partnership city, Yerucham, and the JCC in Buenos Aires. In addition to his involvements in the Jewish community, Alex also serves on the board of Junior Achievement of Greater Miami.
